Singer and comedian Wizbu Ranks, best known for his viral freestyle song “Nabba Embwa” has called out ghetto talent promoter Shirtless, accusing him of uploading the visuals of his song on his YouTube channel without his consent.

Wizbu Ranks says his biggest challenge in the music industry so far has involved Shirtless, whom he credits for exposing him to the public but not for introducing him to entertainment.

The challenge I have so far faced in the music industry starts with Shirtless himself. He didn’t bring me into the industry. He only exposed me to the public, but I have personally been active in the entertainment industry.

According to the singer, Shirtless allegedly took his original video and uploaded it to his YouTube channel despite Wizbu having his own platform.

“Shirtless took my video and uploaded it on his YouTube channel, yet I also have mine. Not the freestyle video, but the original video. When I called him, he told me that it was all his effort.”

Wizbu Ranks was also asked whether Shirtless contributed financially towards the production of the video.

If he contributed to the video shoot, he should come out and narrate his side of the story. I financed the shooting of the video.

Omusajja yasiima and told me to contribute my share, but when I called him, he said it was all his effort. So now, I don’t understand whether my work belongs to him.

Wizbu Ranks also stood by the story behind his breakout freestyle “Nabba Embwa,” insisting that the events narrated in the song are based on his own experience.

He revealed that he was once arrested on allegations of stealing a dog and subsequently spent three months in prison.

Before making a name for himself through music, Wizbu Ranks spent a few years working with the popular comedy outfit Amarula Family, led by comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi.

Away from entertainment, Wizbu has also been earning a living by painting and putting up event banners on the streets of Kampala, work that he says has helped him support himself and his family.

However, the release of “Nabba Embwa” has changed his fortunes, with the song earning him increased public attention and opening doors for performances at different bars, where he now gets paid for his appearances.

Its not bad to have brought him out to fame but let him gain off his efforts. If its his time to shine why don’t shirtless let the boy build off his efforts?👀 pic.twitter.com/AeqadqN1fl
