Congolese music icon Koffi Olomide’s Independence Day live concert in Gulu City will not happen as previously planned.
The concert, which was scheduled to take place today (Friday, October 9, 2026) at the Northern Pearl Hotel Garden along Gulu-Kitgum Road, has been postponed.
In a statement released by the organisers, the concert was postponed after the Ministry of Health’s decision to restrict the entry of Koffi Olomide and his band from DRC into Uganda.

The restriction is part of the ongoing Ebola-related travel advisory which has affected several other travellers travelling into the country from DRC.
“We fully respect and support the Government of Uganda’s public health measures and appreciate the need to protect the health and safety of Ugandans, visitors and the wider community,” the organisers further stated.
The concert is to be rescheduled after the government lifts the travel advisory restrictions, and all tickets purchased prior are still valid.
ScreenshotThe Koffi Live in Gulu City Concert will be rescheduled to a new date once the Government of Uganda lifts the applicable travel advisory and Koffi Olomide and his team are cleared to travel to Uganda.
All tickets already purchased for the Koffi Live in Gulu City Concert shall remain valid for the new date. Ticket holders are therefore strongly advised to keep their tickets safely until the new date is announced.
