Ugandan politician and former Youth Leader under the National Unity Platform, Moses Bigirwa, has urged artists not to indulge in politics and instead focus on music and entertaining society.
In a video cited by Mbu, Bigirwa highlights how politics is a very demanding space that requires sacrifice, patience, and understanding how to manage a society – qualities that most artists lack.
Moses Bigirwa further notes that artists are accustomed to a celebrity lifestyle, which does not work well in politics.

He further reveals that even Bobi Wine, who has enjoyed relative success politically, failed to master the management side of politics, hence leaving the country.
Artists should stick to the music. Politics is very demanding. It requires a lot of patience because you are managing a society. It demands extreme sacrifice, yet artists are very profit-minded.
I have yet to see an artist who can handle politics. They have the art of singing and entertaining, and they can communicate with society perfectly, but there is an element of leadership that they lack.
Even for Bobi Wine, the management side of politics was hard for him to grasp. That’s why he even left the country. Their celebrity life cannot let them be good politicians.
Musicians should focus on music, not politics. Politics has an element that they may lack.#SanyukaUnCut #SanyukaUpdates pic.twitter.com/HDsGkSQ3W4
