Venus Haircare today hosted a workshop for salon owners and stylists at Hotel La Grande, giving the professionals who shape Uganda’s hair trends hands-on training on the brand’s refreshed range.

The workshop follows the Venus rebrand, which was shaped by research with consumers and hair care professionals.

Rather than changing the brand from the inside, the team went to the people who use and recommend the products and built the new Venus around what they said they wanted.

The Venus rebrand did not start in a boardroom. It started with research. We listened to consumers and stylists about what they need from their hair care, and the refreshed Venus is our response to what people asked for.

Salons are where most hair care decisions are made. Clients arrive with braids, relaxed, natural or protective styles and rely on their stylist’s advice on what to use and how to care for their hair between visits.

Through live demonstrations and product sessions, stylists learned how to use and recommend the range for the hair types and styles they handle daily.

The sessions covered:

  • Venus Moisture Seal 5-in-1 Strengthening Oil Blend, for moisture retention and strength
  • Venus Anti-Dandruff 2-in-1 Scalp Care, for scalp health
  • Venus Finishing Mousse, for definition and polish
  • Venus Braid Spray, for keeping braided and protective styles fresh for longer

Salonists are the people our consumers trust most when it comes to their hair. We wanted them to experience the range first-hand, ask questions and leave confident to recommend Venus to their clients. This workshop is about working with them, not just talking at them.

The team also used the workshop to reaffirm that Growwell Uganda Limited is now the official distributor of PZ Cussons brands in Uganda, a change expected to improve availability of Venus and other PZ Cussons products across the country for salons, retailers and consumers.

Salons are also a significant source of livelihood, particularly for women and young entrepreneurs. Equipping stylists with product knowledge supports better service for clients and stronger businesses for salon owners.

Venus Haircare will continue engaging salon professionals and consumers through further activations in the coming weeks.
