Veteran singer Stecia Mayanja says she plans to take a five-year break from releasing new music after putting out her next six songs.

Speaking during an appearance on Shalom 256, Stecia explained that music goes beyond the sound, arguing that the way lyrics are put together is what makes a song meaningful.

We are the music pioneers and we had taken a step back to give new artists a chance and see what they are saying but we have seen that they get tired easily and they don’t leave the studio. In fact I’m going to release six songs and spend five years without new ones.

Stecia revealed that she is already planning how she will approach the next five years, with plans to hold a concert in 2028 before stepping away from releasing new music.

She also addressed whether she is keeping up with the modern era of digital platforms and music distribution, saying she relies on her professional management team to guide her.

“I am managed, I have a very good professional manager and they tell me what to do,” she said.
