Upcoming singer Sqoop Larma says he is taking his time with music, insisting that his focus is on creating timeless songs rather than chasing trends.
Speaking to Spark TV, the Temutuloga hitmaker said he wants to build a lasting musical legacy through songs that connect with people and remain relevant long after his death.
I want even when I have left this life for people to remember my songs, so I have to sing what touches people’s lives.
Sqoop also explained the inspiration behind Temutuloga, saying the song was influenced by claims that some musicians practise witchcraft against one another.
He said he drew inspiration from what people were saying about artists allegedly using witchcraft against their fellow musicians and decided to use the song to send a message that he should be spared from such practices.

Beyond music, Sqoop also spoke about his love life, revealing that he is seeing several people but has not yet decided who he wants to settle down with.
The singer said he is still assessing his options before making an official choice, adding that the women he has been seen with should not be mistaken for confirmed romantic partners.
“I haven’t shown you anyone, which means all those you see me with are just my friends,” he said.
