Socialite and media personality Sheilah Carol Gashumba has urged Ugandans to take social media monetisation seriously after receiving her first payout from X, formerly Twitter.
Sheilah shared her excitement after earning her first $160.34 from the platform, revealing that she had been encouraged to monetise her account since January by former Uganda X President Nova but initially paid little attention to the advice.
According to Sheilah, Nova finally convinced her to activate monetisation two weeks ago, and she has now received her first payment.
She also revealed that X makes payments every two weeks, something she believes could provide social media users with an opportunity to earn extra income.
Excited by the experience, Sheilah challenged Ugandans to stop treating social media platforms merely as spaces for entertainment and start exploring their money-making potential.

Two weeks ago, he monetised my account, and this is my first payment. They pay every two weeks!! We need to get serious as Ugandans on social media and start monetising our accounts.
