Songbird Rema Namakula has shared her honest opinion on why it is difficult for Ugandan musicians who sing in English to break into international markets.
According to Rema, one of the biggest challenges is the way Ugandan artists pronounce and articulate English, which can sometimes make their music less appealing or less easily understood by audiences in other countries.
She explained that artists who have travelled widely and interacted with people from different countries are more likely to understand the kind of English pronunciation and delivery that cuts across international audiences.
