Just days after the death of reggae singer Fantan Mojah, a bitter dispute has erupted over who has the authority to manage the late artiste’s affairs, with rival camps exchanging accusations over representation, social media accounts and the protection of his legacy.
The controversy has unfolded amid a flurry of phone calls, emails and disagreements over access to the Stronger singer’s digital platforms following his passing on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
In a statement released on behalf of themselves, entertainment figures and artistes Jehorney “Unstoppable Fyah” Coulson and Carey James said they were the authorised management representatives of the late reggae star and sought to distance his family and estate from former manager and booking agent Ray “Vertex” Stephens.
“Fantan Mojah was a beloved father, devoted Rastafarian and respected reggae artiste whose music carried messages of faith, truth, resilience and upliftment to audiences in Jamaica and around the world,” the statement read.
“We wish to make it clear that Ray ‘Vertex’ Stephens has had no involvement with Fantan Mojah for nearly four years and is not authorised to represent or speak on behalf of Fantan Mojah, his family or his estate on any platform.”
