With the approaching festive season, the police have issued a cautionary note about an escalation in criminal activities across the country. Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, emphasized that as December, a festive month, draws near, there is a noticeable increase in criminal operations in various regions in preparation for the festivities.
Enanga highlighted targeted attacks on mobile money dealers, traders, businesspersons, motor vehicle thefts, and cattle thefts. As individuals stock items for sale during the festive season, criminals take advantage of this time, particularly targeting those with substantial sums of money and valuable property.
“We would like to ask the public to be vigilant for suspicious people and vehicles and to report any concerns to the police only,” Enanga urged. He advised citizens not to rely solely on the police but to implement security measures, such as cashless transactions, altering banking routines, and using armed guards for cash transportation.
Preventing acquisitive crimes, including robberies, burglaries, and shop break-ins, remains a top priority for the police and other security agencies, according to Enanga.

In recent incidents, on November 5, a group of three armed thugs attacked two homes keeping village savings in Magamaga town council, robbing a total of shs6.8 million. On November 8, disguised as customers, a group of men robbed shs3.6 million from a Fortebet branch in Kyengera town council. Enanga attributed this attack to the negligence of the betting company branch, which lacked armed security guards and failed to detect the masked men.
In Arua City on November 8, security guards of GKO Security Limited reportedly broke into a microfinance office they were guarding, stealing an unspecified amount of cash and a Dell laptop. Enanga emphasized the need for increased vigilance, raids on criminal hubs, and heightened visibility to counteract the anticipated surge in business activity.
While urging the public to be cautious, Enanga emphasized that it is the responsibility of every citizen to report any suspicious activity in their communities and not to become complacent.

Jude Bellingham and Levi Colwill have opted out of the England squad ahead of the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia due to shoulder injuries.
The absence of Real Madrid’s Bellingham and Chelsea’s Colwill brings the total to five players who have withdrawn from Gareth Southgate’s original squad for the matches scheduled on November 17 and 20.
To fill the gaps left by the injured James Maddison, Callum Wilson, and Lewis Dunk, Cole Palmer, Ezri Konsa, and Rico Lewis were called up on Monday.
In addition, Marcus Rashford of Manchester United and Kalvin Phillips of Manchester City will join the squad later in the week for personal reasons.
Despite the setbacks, Southgate has decided not to make any further additions to the squad for the upcoming matches at Wembley against Malta on Friday and the away fixture in North Macedonia on Monday.
England has already secured qualification for the European Championship next summer, and a single victory in the remaining qualifiers would guarantee their position at the top of Group C, securing them as one of the top seeds in the competition hosted by Germany.

Luton Town winger Andros Townsend, 32, is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to extend his football career, adopting a variety of unconventional measures, including incorporating chicken feet into his dinner routine.
Having joined Luton Town in October on a short-term deal after departing Everton in the summer, Townsend is acutely aware of the urgency to prove his fitness and contribute to his new team.
Having endured a serious knee injury that sidelined him for the latter part of the 2021-22 season and the entirety of the 2022-23 season, Townsend is now focused on optimizing his physical well-being. With only a three-month contract at Luton, he recognizes the need to be in top form immediately.
During an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Townsend shared his shift toward natural remedies, raising questions about the plethora of pills and injections he was previously taking to aid recovery.
Townsend explained, “One of the best natural sources of collagen is chicken feet. It is simple.” He elaborated on the benefits, highlighting that chicken feet are rich in cartilage, low in meat, and have skin around them. Drawing inspiration from culinary practices in China, South Africa, and Portugal, he emphasized that the taste is similar to that of a chicken wing.
In addition to his dietary adjustments, Townsend has embraced other unconventional practices such as mouth taping. Reflecting on his transformation, he remarked, “I am 32 years of age, I’ve been out of the game for two years, and I feel absolutely amazing.”
Comparing his current state to his prime at 27 or 28, Townsend noted a significant improvement in recovery time. Previously, he struggled after games and spent the week managing himself. Now, he feels fresher and ready for action much sooner.
Acknowledging that the cumulative effect of numerous small adjustments plays a crucial role, Townsend highlighted various aspects, including nutrition, recovery techniques like the hyperbaric chamber, red-light therapy, and flow therapy. Despite initial plans to join Burnley in the summer falling through, Townsend has made four appearances for Luton Town since joining Kenilworth Road, showcasing his commitment to prolonging his football career through innovative approaches to well-being.

Known for utilizing his physique effectively and displaying excellent ball skills, Krstovic, a traditional number nine, has become a target for several clubs. Barcelona, the reigning La Liga champions, have successfully inked a deal to acquire the talented 16-year-old African attacker, Ibrahim Diarra, as reported by renowned Spanish journalist Albert Roge. Diarra, a rising star from Academie Africa Foot, is the latest addition to Barcelona’s tradition of nurturing young talents.
Hailing from Mali, Ibrahim Diarra has made significant strides in his career at Academie Africa Foot, where he currently captains Mali’s Under-17 team. His leadership was evident in the recent FIFA Under-17 World Cup, showcasing his potential on the global stage.
Primarily a right-winger, Diarra is recognized for his direct style of play in the final third and a keen eye for goal. Despite his youth, Barcelona has been quick to recognize his potential, and the teenager is set to join the club once he turns 18 at the close of the coming year.
Barcelona’s commitment to scouting and securing young talents has been a key strategy, resulting in the successful integration of players like Gavi and Pedri into the first team. In addition to Diarra, the club has recently triumphed in signing promising players such as Pablo Torre, Mikayil Faye, and Trilli.

While the club is actively pursuing other prospects, including the highly sought-after Gabriel Moscardo, Diarra’s signing reinforces Barcelona’s dedication to building a strong foundation for the future.
Due to FIFA regulations, Diarra, being under 18, will not immediately join Barcelona. The restriction prevents European clubs from signing players under 18 from outside the continent. However, with Diarra turning 18 in December 2024, he is expected to make his arrival at the Catalan club by the end of the following year.
Upon joining Barcelona, Diarra is likely to become part of the youth team. If his progression continues, the 16-year-old African sensation could emerge as a promising long-term solution in the attacking third alongside fellow talent Lamine Yamal.
