Singer Pia Pounds has opened up about moving to the United States, saying that it helped her rediscover herself in terms of her career and passion for music.
Pia announced the development in her most recent vlog, where she revealed that she made the decision to leave Uganda for the United States in July. The singer noted that it was the best decision she has ever made, as the new country not only feels like home but has unlocked another version of her, and she already feels she has been locked away her whole life.
“When I landed, I felt home. It felt like I belonged. As if some version of me had been locked away all my life waiting for me to be here,” she said.
Pia Pounds explained that before she left, she had been dealing with a writer’s block; a situation where she experienced a slowdown in her creativity. For two years, she explained that she couldn’t write, couldn’t sing, and the motivation for her art had gone down.
Traveling to the US has given her an opportunity to level up her art, upgrade herself, her music, presentation, her brand, her fashion, and everything she believed in.
“I decided to challenge myself creatively by learning a new instrument and practice everyday. It took about three months before I locked in and my writer’s block vanished,” she said.
At this point in her life, Pia Pounds revealed she is now free and will soon be releasing her music album, which she said has gone through world-class production.

“I believe my fans will be proud of me. Your girl is trying to represent her country beyond borders. I’m trying to be better than I was yesterday and I’m trying to enjoy the journey. The highs, the lows; it is all a part of the transition which will end in glory,” she said.
Pia is not only thriving in her fashion career but also in music. She has embarked on her US tour with performances in Denver, Boston, Massachusetts, among other cities.
