Singer Naira Ali has given her two cents on the ongoing discussions about witchcraft in the music industry, urging artists to stop tagging their struggles to it.
In a long post on her Facebook page, Naira Ali termed it ‘bizarre’ for fellow artists to quickly claim that they have been bewitched every time they face hard times.
“But perhaps it’s time for an uncomfortable conversation. Not every downfall is witchcraft. Sometimes, it’s poor planning. Sometimes, it’s simply life, lifing,” she wrote.
Naira also pointed out that some artists heavily invest in the image of their success and, in turn, forget to focus on the important aspects of life, which include saving for the unpredictable future.
With this, she cautioned fellow artists against living beyond their means, encouraging them to adopt financial literacy and gain knowledge about investing wisely, saving, and building an income beyond just their music talent.
“We confuse looking wealthy with building wealth. Fame is not financial security. A hit song is not a retirement plan. A fully booked season doesn’t guarantee income five years from now. We need to learn to budget, live below our means, save, invest wisely, and build income beyond our talent,” she said.

She, however, admitted that despite being careful about their way of life, they would still face hardships, and the goal is to stay financially afloat amid the hardships.
“But before we blame witchcraft, perhaps we should honestly examine the decisions and choices within our control. The goal is to remain financially stable when the applause stops. Talent can make you money. Financial literacy and discipline help you keep it,” she said.
