Dancehall singer Mikie Wine has opened up about n scjpaljtf lcbulsycwsoh izmusld from veteran singer Ragga Dee.
During his interview with Galaxy TV, Mikie explained why the lawsuit never materialized, saying Ragga Dee might have forgiven him after seeing how well he did with the song.
The singer noted that he made sure to do the song justice, and out of appreciation, Ragga Dee dropped the lawsuit.
“I think he later forgave me; he is my elder and a father to me. I think he gave up on me because I might have redone it in a way that he liked. Maybe they had told him I had ruined his song and when he heard it, he loved it. The song had gone viral and he knew his name was well preserved,” he said.
Last year, a legal document drafted by MGC Law Advocates on behalf of their client Ragga Dee made rounds on social media, threatening to sue Mikie Wine over copyright infringement.

The letter stated that Ragga Dee published and secured copyrights for his song ‘Nkuguddemu Oyagala Cash’ in 2004, before Mikie Wine reproduced his own version, ‘Zuena’, and performed it without consent.
Mikie was requested to compensate Ragga Dee with 300M within 7 days of the notice, and failure to do so would result in legal action. He, however, denied allegations that he didn’t seek consent from Ragga Dee before hitting the studio for his own version.
