Former gossip critic Mary Luswata has publicly issued an apology to singer Juliana Kanyomozi over the insensitive comments that she made years ago.

Mary Luswata rose to fame in the 2010s with a gossip show Sqoop on Sqoop, on Urban TV, and was well known for being unapologetic and openly criticizing celebrities.

Appearing during Prim Asiimwe’s latest episode of The Pickup and was tasked to mention one of the things she did in her television career that she would love to take back or handle differently.

She confessed that the comments she made about Juliana Kanyomozi after she had lost her only child were insensitive. Luswata admitted that she was “young and stupid” at the time and used the chance to directly apologize to the singer.

Having had children of her own, Luswata revealed that the comments were inappropriate for a mother who had just experienced such a great loss, noting that she had earlier wanted to apologize to Juliana but was looking for a perfect moment.

“I took it a little too far when Juliana lost her baby. I must have overstepped; It was bordering on evil. That is me taking accountability. I was young, I was stupid, I was excited. God has given me my own children just to reveal to me how stupid I was to say whatever I said. From someone who prided herself in being unapologetic, I’m apologetic to you Juliana. That was inconsiderate, unnecessary, bordering evil and I’m sorry. It has come 10 years later but it is something I have wanted to do,” she said.
