In a statement issued by the Makerere University Guild Minister for Culture, Mobilization, and Social Affairs, Edward Mutebi, it is acknowledged that some artists did not get enough time to perform for the students at the 2026 MAK Freshers Ball event.

Held on Saturday, 31st October 2026, the event attracted big crowds at the Impis Rugby Grounds, and several entertainers were scheduled to perform.

However, due to the downpour, a couple of activities on the program were changed, leaving little time for speeches.

It should be noted that the Makerere Guild President, Gracious Kadondi, didn’t even get to speak to the students, and her effort to do so before Fik Fameica’s performance ended in chaos.

Edward Mutebi has since apologised for the occurrences that resulted from the change in the programs, especially the guild leaders and artists who failed to speak and perform, respectively.
