A woman identified as Jamirah Nabaweesi has called out singer Kazibwe Kapo, accusing him of neglecting a child she says they share and failing to fulfil his parental responsibilities.
Nabaweesi claims that the singer has provided little to no support towards the child’s upkeep and medical treatment, despite the child reportedly suffering from recurrent illnesses that have sometimes required oxygen support.
According to her account, she first met Kapo at an event in Kiboga, where he had travelled to perform alongside fellow singer Abdul Mulaasi.
She says the two struck up a conversation after meeting at the venue, exchanged telephone contacts and later became romantically involved, an encounter she claims resulted in her pregnancy.
However, Nabaweesi alleges that after Kapo learnt she was pregnant, he became difficult to reach, leaving her to navigate the pregnancy and childbirth without his support.
Nabaweesi further claims that she later got another opportunity to reach out to the singer when he and his team returned to Kiboga for a performance, by which time their alleged child was six years old.
She says she had just come from the hospital, where the child had been admitted, when she learnt about the show; she subsequently approached Kapo’s manager, Kalule, and explained her situation.
According to her, the manager let her into the venue and helped her communicate with the singer, enabling her to get his telephone number again.

However, Nabaweesi alleges that reconnecting with Kapo did little to change the situation, claiming that the child has continued to experience health complications while she struggles to secure financial assistance for treatment.
She says her attempts to contact the singer often go unanswered and that, even when he picks up, he allegedly offers little response to her concerns.
The woman maintains that the situation has caused her considerable distress as she continues to shoulder the responsibility of caring for the child.
The allegations emerge against the backdrop of Kapo’s reported appeal to women claiming to have children with him to bring the children forward for DNA testing to establish paternity.
The singer reportedly said he wanted the matter settled so that his family would not face complications over questions of inheritance and family responsibilities after his death.
As of publication, the singer had not publicly responded to Nabaweesi’s allegations and claims regarding the child’s paternity.
