Jose Chameleone has admitted that Radio & Weasel are some of the artists that gave him a run for his money in music.
Chameleone, while hosted by Lil Pazo on a TikTok live, was asked to name the artists that have ever put him under a lot of pressure and competition in his career as a musician.
He acknowledged that Bobi Wine released ‘Badda’ in 2005, and he felt like he was being outshone. He noted that he took his time, went to the studio, and released Valu Valu to outmatch him.
Jose Chameleone, however, gave a special mention to the Goodlyfe crew, consisting of the late Radio Mowzey and his brother Weasel Manizo. He described them as the only young artists who released music that made every top artist at that time rethink their careers.
“I’m not trying to push my own but they were very good. They left Leone Island with knowledge that music was not just words but needed good production. Every other week they released quality music. When they were leaving me, they went with my management,” he said.
Jose Chameleone reflected on a day when he had gone to the National Theatre to hang out with his peers, and the duo drove in their newly acquired cars as they premiered their hit song ‘Sitaani’, a diss song directed at him.

“I waited for them at Club Silk the next day and told Shiru to drop my song ‘Bayuda’ to get back at them. They slowly left the venue. Just that people love putting others down but those boys were something else. They are among the big artists in this country with a catalogue of over 150 hit songs,” he said.
