What sparked your initial interest in content creation and comedy in Uganda?
The rise of in Uganda during the COVID-19 pandemic influenced me to start creating content. I have never looked back.
How did the nickname “Landlord” come about, and what does it represent to you?
It’s actually people who named me ‘Landlord’ because of the character I always portrayed in my content from the start.

Can you describe your journey from starting to becoming a renowned Ugandan comedian and content creator?
Before the fame, I was already in the entertainment industry as a dancer. I have worked for top artists, including BET award winner and Grammy award nominee Eddy Kenzo.
What are the key themes or inspirations behind Jose Chakala’s content?
I always try to emulate discipline and the fear of God. I am fueled by the fact that you can make a lot of friends in this field and travel to different countries.
How do you stay relevant and innovative in the fast-paced world of social media content creation?
You have to create skits that relate to the daily life of an ordinary person. That is the type of content people associate with the most because they are real experiences they go through.
Who are some of your biggest influences, both locally and internationally, in comedy and content creation?
Botswana’s William Last KRM, Nigeria’s Sydney Talker, and Uganda’s Weird Pastor.
What has been the most memorable or rewarding moment in your career so far?
It must be when I traveled alongside Weird Pastor to China,
