John Blaq has revealed that he has survived three accidents in his career, while also naming fellow artist Vyroota as his standout artist of the year.
John Blaq made the revelation while reflecting on the music industry and the artists who have made an impact this year. According to the singer, Vyroota has particularly stood out musically and deserves recognition for his performance.
Musically, Vyroota has outperformed this year and I give him the award of best artist of the year.
Latty Neika has also had a good performing song and myself I had the ‘Langi’ song and Kapeke also has done well.
John Blaq also revealed that he has survived three accidents so far, with the first one occurring in 2022 and leaving him without his car.
He explained that the accident forced him to replace the vehicle, adding to the challenges he has faced away from his music career.

Beyond his personal experiences, John Blaq also addressed the financial challenges faced by Ugandan artists when trying to pursue international collaborations.
He argued that although international collaborations can help artists expand their reach, the costs involved in travelling and promoting such projects can be too high for many Ugandan musicians.
If you had like 100K USD, you’d travel to places like UK with the artist and push, but since we don’t have the money, it’s hard to even get a ticket to Nigeria to work with them and that’s why we wait for most of them to first come to Uganda.
