Starting the year, singer Laika Music had big plans for 2026, hoping to take her music career to another level with the release of a fully packaged album.
However, with just two months left before the year ends, the songstress has admitted that things have not gone according to plan.
The curvy singer revealed that she had hoped to release her long-awaited album, but her desire to secure international collaborations has slowed down the project.
Laika disclosed that the album already has about 16 songs, but she is still chasing the international collaborations she wants to feature on the project before taking it to the public.
I’m just living each day as it goes. I used to plan so much, and things would just happen differently. I thought I was going to release my album this year. I’ve got like 16 songs on it, but I’m chasing my collaborations, international collaborations.

She further explained that she wants to give the album a major launch rather than simply releasing the songs, noting that her ambitions stretch beyond Uganda’s borders.
I want to make sure they happen on that album, and they haven’t happened yet, so I might or might not release it this year. I want to give it my all and do an album release, you know, everything.
I want to make it huge. Because this one, I want to do it not just for Uganda, but even beyond Uganda. The year has had glitches in it.
Despite the delays, Laika insists that she has been busy in the studio, working on different sounds and recording several songs she believes will surprise her fans when they finally come out.
The singer is now leaving the timing of the project to God, while promising that her fans should expect a completely different version of her in the coming years.
“I have so many sounds and have been working on so many songs. You guys, if you get to listen to my unreleased songs, you would go mad. But again, God’s timing. I can tell you, in the next two years, you won’t see the same Laika. I will give you a very different version of me.”
With a 16-track album in the works and international collaborations still on her wish list, Laika appears determined to take her time and deliver a project that can compete beyond the Ugandan music scene.
