Singer Laika Music has explained why she has been relatively quiet on the music scene for the past few months, revealing that she has been busy working on new projects behind the scenes.

For ardent followers of Uganda’s entertainment industry, Laika’s reduced public presence had raised questions about what was happening in her music career and whether she was still actively working on new material.

However, following the release of her latest collaboration with singer John Blaq, titled Mummy Yo, Laika has opened up about the reasons behind her silence, assuring fans that she has been preparing something special for them.

The singer revealed that she had been working with a different management team before making a change, while also dedicating time to preparations for an upcoming album.

First of all, I was working with a certain management, and I changed, and we’re working on an album. So things were going on behind the scenes.

I was, and I’m still, preparing something hot coming up soon, and when you’re preparing, you can’t be all over the place. I also want to be calculative in my moves. I don’t want to be everywhere without any purpose.

Her remarks suggest that the time away from the spotlight was part of a deliberate approach to rebuilding her musical direction rather than an indication that she was giving up on the industry.

Meanwhile, Mummy Yo, her collaboration with John Blaq, has been gaining traction on music platforms, giving her a fresh opportunity to reconnect with listeners and reminding fans of the potential of collaborations in Uganda’s music industry.
