Luga-flow singer Gravity Omutujju’s father-in-law has been accused of allegedly swindling Shs200 million belonging to a SACCO.
The allegations came to light after Kisa Kya Mukama spoke about the matter in a media interview, calling on Gravity to prevail on his father-in-law to pay back the money allegedly taken from the SACCO.
Kisa Kya Mukama said he only learnt about the alleged financial dispute after Gravity, accompanied by singer Catherine Kusasira, reportedly visited his office seeking his intervention to have his father-in-law released.
In a light-hearted remark, Kisa Kya Mukama drew a comparison between Gravity’s long-running demands for fellow singer Bebe Cool to clear an alleged debt and the current situation involving his father-in-law.
Tell Gravity Omutujju to tell his father-in-law to pay. He came to my office and I kept quiet and I only told him that we want money.
Since his name is big, his father-in-law swindled funds belonging to a SACCO. If he had not come to my office, I wouldn’t get to know about this whole saga.
He came pleading that his father-in-law be freed.
He further claimed that he was not concerned about the political affiliations or activities of those involved, saying his main interest was seeing the SACCO members get their money back.
If he bribed the Police that’s upon him. But me I don’t want to know whether he sings for NRM.
Good thing he has been demanding Bebe Cool, we also demand his father-in-law to pay. Because Mzee Ddamba can’t tell us that he has a big artist in the country and fails to pay Shs200m.
When he comes in person, listen to him only when he’s willing to pay.
The allegations have reportedly left members of the SACCO concerned, with the affected group claiming that the money was contributed by members who entrusted their savings to the organisation.

They reportedly feel betrayed and say the alleged loss of the funds has affected their businesses and disrupted their ability to access or use money they had saved.
However, the allegations remain claims at this stage, and the father-in-law has not been given an opportunity in the account above to respond to the accusations.
The controversy now leaves questions over how the alleged Shs200 million debt will be resolved and whether the affected SACCO members will eventually recover their money.
