Ugandan dancehall star Fik Fameica has officially been unveiled as the Brand Ambassador for Spiro Uganda and East Africa at a handover ceremony held at the company’s facility in Kampala.
The “Sikiwa” hitmaker, whose real name is Shafik Walukagga, was handed the keys to his new Spiro Ekon electric motorcycle (registration number UMA 117NP), marking the start of the partnership.
Fik took his new ride for its first spin around the facility and recorded a testimonial highlighting the bike’s efficiency, quiet operation and potential cost savings for everyday urban riders.
The unveiling follows Spiro’s official announcement on 15 July 2026, when the company named Fik Fameica its regional ambassador for East Africa, alongside Nigerian superstar Davido, who was named Global Brand Ambassador.
Why Fik Fameica?Spiro Uganda said the partnership is a strategic move. Fik Fameica is one of Uganda’s most influential youth icons, with strong ties to the boda boda culture that powers Kampala’s transport and informal economy.
“Fik connects with young Ugandans and the boda community that relies on motorcycles for income. He is the perfect voice for our mission,” the company said.
Fik Fameica described the partnership as bigger than an endorsement.
“This is not just about motorcycles; this is a movement. A movement for cleaner transport, cheaper transport, and more opportunity for our people,” Fik said.
In his signature Luganda slang, he captioned the moment: “Twesange ku baala!” “Let’s meet on the road!”
The Bigger PictureThe partnership supports Spiro’s push to expand electric mobility in Uganda. The company says it is targeting 50,000 electric bikes deployed by the end of 2026, supported by an expanding battery-swapping network designed to reduce charging downtime for boda riders.
