The annual Makerere University Freshers Ball, held last night at the Impis Rugby Grounds, was anything but short on drama, with an unexpected showdown between rapper Fik Fameica and University Guild President Gracious Kadondi stealing the spotlight.
The event attracted several big-name performers, including Fik Fameica, Winnie Nwagi, Nina Roz, Feffe Bussi and Da Agent, who kept the revellers entertained and in high spirits throughout the night. However, the mood took an unexpected turn when Kadondi reportedly interrupted Fik Fameica’s performance, sparking an onstage confrontation that quickly became one of the night’s biggest talking points.
According to reports, Kadondi wanted to address the students while Fik was still performing, but the rapper reportedly declined to give up the stage, insisting that he had been booked to entertain the crowd.
Police officers reportedly intervened and paved the way for Kadondi to approach the rapper and speak to him. Although what she told him was not clearly heard through the microphone, things escalated when Fik took the microphone from her hands.
Clearly unimpressed by the interruption, the rapper loudly insisted that it was his time to perform and even called on security personnel to escort Kadondi off the stage so he could continue with his set.
He went as far as asking the students to choose between the two of them, questioning who they wanted to remain on stage.
“Madam, madam, it’s my time to perform. I’ve work to do. I’ve somewhere else I’m going. Please, please don’t waste my time.”
The dramatic exchange has since sparked heated discussions on social media, with users sharing clips of the incident and debating who was in the wrong, with some siding with the rapper while others questioned how he handled the Guild President.

By the time of publication, neither Fik Fameica nor Gracious Kadondi had publicly given their side of the story or explained what exactly triggered the confrontation.
But the two were not the only ones making headlines from the Freshers Ball. A student who reportedly went semi-nude climbing onto a table also became a major talking point, with videos of the bizarre moment circulating widely on social media.
