Renowned events promoter Nobat Events, real name Norbert Twizire, has been dragged back to Luzira Prison after new charges arose against him.

Nobat Events was yesterday, 26 October 2026, re-arraigned before Makindye Court over allegations of theft of SACCO Money. The promoter was granted a cash bail of 3 million with sureties expected to pay a non-cash bail of 3 million each and was told to return to court on 25th next month.

Before he could fully gain his freedom, Nobat was quickly rearrested over allegations that he physically assaulted someone. He is expected to reappear in court on 16th November to answer to the fresh charges slapped against him.

Nobat Event’s troubles started after he was detained at Katwe Police Station earlier this month over allegations of misuse of government funds meant to support promoters.

The court heard that Nobat, together with Twaha and other members still on the run, between August and September 2026 stole 1 billion Shillings given by the government to support the promoters. They are also accused of squandering UGX 31,904,000 in member savings and shares between the months of February and September.
