Youngster Dwiz Playboy has taken his fight over the ownership of the song Bukutu a step further, heading to Katwe Police Station to obtain a police reference as he considers his next legal move.

Speaking in a TikTok video, Dwiz said he was determined to pursue the matter legally, insisting that he was serious about reclaiming the song and seeking justice over what he believes is his rightful ownership.

“The fact that I’m serious about the issue of claiming my song, I’ve decided to seek legal action at Katwe Police Station and get a reference as I figure out what to do next. I think it’s time to take this matter to the legal side because what I’m doing is true, and I’m expressing the pain I’m going through deep down in my heart.”

Dwiz’s move comes after he publicly claimed ownership of Bukutu, following the highly publicised release of Sheebah and Karole Kasita’s project of the same name.

The singer alleged that he originally released the song in 2025 and was left heartbroken after discovering that Sheebah had released what he believes is his song.

He said the development left him devastated, describing the emotional pain he has endured over the disputed track.

However, the ownership claims remain allegations, and the matter’s legal outcome is yet to be established.
