The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Lino Anguzu, has clarified the position of the prosecution regarding Rose Tusiime, the woman who was with late Afrigo Band singer Moses Matovu on the night he was fatally attacked.

According to the DPP, Tusiime will not be charged in connection with Matovu’s death and is instead expected to serve as a key prosecution witness when the case against the suspect comes up for hearing.

Moses Matovu breathed his last on September 24, 2026, after he was allegedly attacked in Kibuli Market Zone B in Makindye Division.

Tusiime’s role in the events surrounding Matovu’s death had attracted public attention, with some questioning why she was not placed in the dock alongside the suspect, Vincent Arnold Nsamba, alias Sitenda.

However, DPP Anguzu has now made it clear that the prosecution does not intend to charge Tusiime over Matovu’s death.

Instead, she is expected to provide evidence for the prosecution against Nsamba, who has been arrested and remanded to Luzira Prison in connection with the case.

The clarification comes amid growing public interest in the circumstances surrounding Matovu’s final hours and the events that allegedly led to his death.

Nsamba’s case is scheduled to come up for hearing on November 3, 2026.
