Rapper Da Agent, real name Ivan Wabwire, has taken a swipe at fellow rapper Gravity Omutujju, claiming he would not have achieved his current level of success had he made his breakthrough after him.
During an interview with Galaxy TV, Da Agent was asked which rapper he would confidently face in a lyrical showdown, either in the studio or on a music battle stage. He singled out Gravity Omutujju as an artist he would be willing to go bar for bar with.
Da Agent, who rose to fame in the mid-2010s, suggested that Gravity’s early breakthrough in 2011 gave him an advantage in building his career and fanbase.
He argued that had Gravity entered the music scene after him, he would not enjoy the same level of fame and popularity he has today.
“Honestly speaking, for some time I have known that if I had come earlier, Gravity Omutujju wouldn’t have got the platform,” he said.
The rapper has been an open rival to Gravity Omutujju and at one point confessed that their feud stemmed from fans constantly comparing them.
In one interview, he called out award organizers in Uganda for placing him in the same category as rappers he believes are not upholding the same principles in their genre. He singled out the annual HipHop Awards that had put him in the ‘Central Uganda artist of the year’ category with Gravity Omutujju.

Da Agent further expressed his disappointment towards Gravity, whom he referred to as ‘Rapper Ayi Ayi’ for using vulgar language in all his songs. He noted that the quality of his music was not comparable to Gravity’s songs and didn’t deserve to be in the same bracket.
