Social media is awash with sad news of renowned Ugandan comedy sensation, Kapere Lufotose’s death.

The news about Kapere’s unfortunate demise started making rounds on social media this evening with fans and netizens sending in their condolence messages.

Although details surrounding his unfortunate death are still scanty, reports state that he passed away in a hospital in Buddo.

Bobi Wine, a close friend of Kapere also confirmed the news on his socials, sending his condolences.

“A few moments back, I just received the most devastating news regarding the untimely passing of our brother, dear friend and comrade Yokana Mbuuse fondly called Kapere Lufotose. A man who made every dark moment light. A man who loved his country and wished it well! A loss so difficult to take in,” Bobi Wine wrote.

Kapere’s death comes shortly after he appeared in a TikTok broadcast and couldn’t hold back tears as he admitted that he felt compelled to share what he has been going through. He noted that the pressure had become overwhelming on him.

According to Kapere, the entertainment industry was no longer giving comedians enough opportunities despite trying out other businesses to earn some money; they were not successful.

He added that he has been left to struggle to meet his financial needs including his rent and his children’s school fees, because promoters were not booking him for performances.
