Former talent manager and singer Geoffrey Kyagambiddwa, known as Chagga, has dismissed rumours that he was deported from the United Kingdom, insisting that he is free to return to the country and resume work.

Chagga maintained that he was never deported and intends to return to the UK, where he had been working before coming back to Uganda.

He also questioned how people concluded that he had been deported, arguing that the fact that he returned with some of his belongings should put the rumours into question.

I was busy working in London, UK, and I will still go back and work. How do you think I returned, and do you know whether I will go back?

A person who is deported doesn’t return with anything, and I am protected by the whites.

He further explained that his experience in London was not entirely smooth, noting that, just like Kampala, the city has both good and bad people.

According to Chagga, some individuals he trusted in the UK eventually turned against him, making his stay there more difficult than he had anticipated.

You know every country has good and bad people. In London, I found good people, but it also has bad people, just like here in Kampala, Uganda.

There are people you meet and believe are good, only for them to turn against you. When I reached London, life initially became hard and challenging for me.

Chagga also revealed that some of the people he expected to welcome him at the airport did not show up, leaving him disappointed because he had placed his hopes in them.

He claimed that some of his associates wanted him to surrender to the UK police to pursue an asylum-related process, but he was unwilling to follow their plan.

Even those I expected to pick me up from the airport didn’t. My hope was in them. My guys wanted me to do something for them, yet I wasn’t ready to do what they wanted.

They wanted me to surrender to the white police for the asylum things, but that wasn’t my plan.
