Carol Nantongo has responded to rumours alleging that she is experiencing domestic violence in her marriage to husband Dylan, saying that whatever happens in their private lives is a matter between the two of them.
Speaking to journalists, Carol described Dylan as her husband and said she remains submissive to him, adding that their marital issues should be handled privately.
“It’s not bad if he beats me,” she said, in remarks made while addressing the rumours surrounding their relationship.
Carol also reflected on the challenges of love and marriage, questioning the popular advice that couples should marry their best friends. According to the singer, even a close friendship can change over time, making love difficult to predict.
I see people saying that marry your best friend, but even your best friend can turn into something else. Men change all the time, unlike us women, so there’s no science to love.
The singer further revealed that she and Dylan have been together for nine years, noting that misunderstandings are inevitable in a relationship that has lasted that long.

However, she maintained that they have always found ways to work through their differences.
Carol explained that they prefer to address disagreements after emotions have settled rather than resorting to shouting at each other.
We don’t shout at each other; we talk when we have calmed down. There’s no marriage that doesn’t have issues, don’t accept to be deceived. We aren’t angels; all humans make mistakes.
