Media personality Flavia Tumusiime has revealed that she is no longer influenced by trends when it comes to buying the latest smartphones, saying she is more focused on living a quality life than accumulating things.

Speaking on her YouTube podcast, Tumusiime explained that she has reached a point in her life where she values contentment and practicality over keeping up with what is popular.

She said she understands why people embrace trends and appreciates those who enjoy purchasing the latest phone models, but she does not feel compelled to follow the same path.

Never been one to like trends, I can recognise and support anybody jumping on a trend, having the latest phone or whatever version but not me.

She explained that as long as something serves its purpose consistently, she is satisfied with it and sees no need to replace it simply because a newer version is available.

Tumusiime also referenced Morgan Housel’s book The Psychology of Money, highlighting contentment as an important mindset in building wealth and developing a healthy relationship with money.

“The mindset that says I’m good, I’m content, I want more but more in the other aspects of life,” she said.

To illustrate her point, she compared owning the latest gadgets to having multiple cars, arguing that people can only use one car at a time.

“It’s like with cars, you drive one car at a time. There’s no way you can drive six cars the same time,” she added.
