Renowned audio producer BassBoi was overcome with emotion as he officially launched his own recording studio, BassBoi Wave Studios, marking a major milestone in his career after spending a year working mobile.

The producer struggled to hold back tears as he expressed gratitude to the people who supported him financially and materially to turn his dream of owning a studio into reality.

Among those he singled out was singer Spice Diana, whom he credited with giving him Shs2.5 million in cash and buying him a microphone worth Shs6 million to help him get started.

BassBoi also applauded Mukono-based musician Mr. Phill for contributing Shs1 million towards the project, while appreciating other artistes who supported him along the way.

When I went to Spice Diana, she gave me Shs2.5 million and bought me a microphone worth Shs6 million.

I also thank other artistes, although I cannot mention all of them. I thank Mr. Phill of Mukono; he also gave me Shs1 million.

The producer further thanked the PDM photography boss for contributing Shs5 million towards the payment of rent and renovation costs for the new studio.

During the launch, BassBoi also thanked Frank Jah of JahLive Studios for giving him an opportunity to work and learn under him during the early stages of his career while he was still at university.

He said he does not take the opportunity and mentorship for granted.

Desire Luzinda: Levixone has never given me a reason to doubt him

With BassBoi Wave Studios now officially launched, the producer has established a permanent base for clients seeking his recording services, ending the uncertainty of having to track him down while he worked on the move.

BassBoi’s latest venture comes after a fallout with his former boss, who reportedly dismissed him from the studio where he previously worked over alleged failures to properly account for money earned from recording artistes.

Despite that setback, the producer appears determined to build his own brand and establish himself independently in Uganda’s competitive music industry.
